Documented the American civil war .. he was also renowned for moving items to make a more telling image .. staging to some extent..

ROGER FENTON - Carnage of Crimean War. ( 1853/6)
These pictures were taken only ten years after the camera invented. The subjects had to stand still because of the slow iso. These type of images had never been seen before.
